An Uber Eats Driver was in tears after getting $1.19 tips. He spent an hour on this order. Uber Eats paid him $2 for the order. Total: $3.19.
“What’s that? That’s not even enough to cover gas!”
He posted an emotional TikTok video with the user name @deliveryguy100 wishing people would know what it was like to drive for food delivery brands like Uber Eats and DoorDash.
He has become homeless, living in his car, and is driving food delivery to make ends meet. He said in the video he’s four months behind on his car payment.
“Homeless, I’m there. This that I’m sitting in (his car), it’s gone. Four months behind there’s no way I can pay for that.”
It seems that the pandemic has struck the driver.
“Everything fell apart for me. I haven’t been able to sustain myself, provide for myself.”
