Are you a new or seasoned food delivery driver? Have you been searching on the web for helpful content to make more money with food delivery gigs? Have you noticed a pattern?
All the sites you stumble upon are doing the same stuff, it seems. You’re probably sick of it. It is 2020; I know I am.
Here are the four kinds of useless stuff you’ll find and are probably sick of.
1. The Make More Money By Being More Prepared Advices
“Get a bag.”
Practical. But that doesn’t make anyone more money. You don’t need to get a thermal bag. These thermal bags are given out for free when you sign up to drive for UberEats, Postmates, Grubhub, Caviar, Postmates. Every platform on earth will give you a bag.
Most seasoned couriers don’t even carry a thermal bag anymore. They leave it in their car if they do own one. Those things were marketing tools to grow brand-awareness among the general public in the early days of on-demand food delivery. Those days are over. Food delivery services are in the conscious of the mass.
“Get a tarp for your car.”
Calm down. We aren’t moving furniture guys.
Pizzas and tacos in paper bags aren’t going to damage the interior of your car.
2. The Buy This Expensive Gear Advice
Really? Brand new car tires?
Buying an expensive state of the art titanium phone mount isn’t going to make you more money. I use a simple $20 plastic dollar one. It works just fine.
3. The Useless List of Common Sense
“Follow restaurant instructions.”
Yes, we should respect the policies of the restaurants. But this doesn’t make couriers more money. The restaurants don’t pay you to follow their instructions.
4. The Clean Car Equal More Money Nonsense
“Keep your car clean.”
“Have cleaning supplies in your car.”
“Make sure your car smells nice.”
My car has been clean since I started driving food delivery in 2015. Car cleanliness hasn’t made my weekly payout any larger.
Spending money on cleaning supplies cost you money. It doesn’t make you more money.
Concerning food delivery, if you need cleaning supplies in your car, chances are you are clumsy and keep spilling people’s food. If you are not clumsy, then you won’t have to buy cleaning supplies. So, stop being clumsy.
There’s so much content on the website that doesn’t help food delivery drivers make more money. Everyone is just trying to refer more drivers with click-baits.
If you are a new driver, some principles will always be relevant if you want to make money as a food delivery driver without becoming a content creator and plugging your referral code. I shared them here:
