Previously my Prius failed the Uber inspection. Okay so clearly I rushed a bit in buying that Prius. There’s an old saying:
It’s so true. A lesson for you if you ever buy a used car: if the price seems too good to be true, there’s probably a catch. Check with Kelly Blue Book before you make a decision. It could save you a lot of money and headaches. But in my defense, I thought I could quickly make enough money within a month as a courier so I was just trying to get a quick deal. It didn’t cross my mind that the Prius could be problematic.
Anyways, Eddie ran out to meet me when I pulled up to the dealership. I handed him the smart key and told him “There’s something wrong with the car. The check engine light keeps coming up and I’ve taken it in to get looked at three times now.”
Eddie told me he’d have the mechanic look at it and it wouldn’t cost me anything. Just what I wanted to hear from Eddie. Apparently in the back of this car dealership, there’s a mechanic shop where they do repairs.
I took public transportation home.
While my car was being fixed, I started the application process to work for Postmates and Caviar. These two on-demand platforms were the only ones in Portland at the time. I applied to work for both of them. I’m also interested in Doordash and Deliv, but those two haven’t arrived in Portland yet. I will keep an eye out for them.
