Previously, I provided some data on how much I made in my first week of driving for Postmates and Caviar. We learned that Caviar’s commission is way better.
Here’s the earnings for my second week:
Notes
Sample Size
You’ll notice a big difference between the number of orders/jobs compared to last week. It’s hard to make inferences from this week’s data because of sample size. I only did 7 Postmates jobs. I lost my 5-star rating a few days into the gig with Postmates. So, to bring it back up, I did less jobs and made sure I give 5-star performances.
Blitz Pricing
I calculated the amount I earned from Blitz Pricing using the same method I did in Week 1 and it worked out to be $8.40, which is 14% of this week’s total. Blitz Pricing was active for only three of the seven Postmates jobs. If you recall from Week 1, Blitz Pricing accounted for about a third of my earnings.
Commission
Caviar’s average commission is consistent with week one, which was $10.20. Postmates, not so much but then again the sample size is pretty small.
Tips
Caviar does not have a tipping feature so the frequency of getting tips (in cash) is very low. Nine of out the 59 folks I delivered for tipped, which is14%. Like Uber, Caviar wants to remove the anxiety of tipping for their users.
I’m learning more about best practices so stay tuned for future earning updates!
